Dele Giwa’s mother, Elekhia, passes on

Madam Elekhia Giwa is dead. The information was passed from the twitter handle of TELL Magazine Their tweet simply read: "Madam Elekhia Giwa, mother of late Dele Giwa, 1st E-in-C of Newswatch, has died." 

Madam Giwa was the mother of Dele Giwa, the Nigerian journalist, editor and founder of Newswatch magazine, who was killed by a letter bomb in his home on 19 October, 1986 – two days after he had been interviewed by State Security Service (SSS) officials.

The cause of her death was not ascertained at the time of filing this report. More details soon..
