Razzie Awards: Twilight finale lands most nods
The final Twilight film has received 11 nominations for the
annual Razzie awards, which mark the worst movies of the year. The
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is named in categories such as
worst picture and worst screenplay.
Its stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, also have the dubious honour of being nominated in the lead acting categories.
The blockbuster vampire movie is closely followed by Adam Sandler comedy That's My Boy, up for eight Razzies.
Other nominees for the worst film of 2012 include Battleship, which starred pop star Rihanna, Eddie Murphy comedy A Thousand Words and family flick The Oogieloves In The Big Balloon Adventure.
The nominations come on the same day as the Bafta shortlist and a day before the Oscar contenders are revealed.
Twilight's producers are unlikely to be too dismayed by the film's 11 Razzie nods. The movie has been a hit at the worldwide box office.
Released in November, it is estimated to have taken nearly $800m (£498m) by the end of 2012.
Rihanna's big screen debut, Battleship, where she played a US Navy Seal, is also listed in seven categories.
The Barbadian singer is up for worst supporting actress and the action flick's director, Peter Berg, is also nominated.
The Razzies launched in 1980 as a tongue-in-cheek alternative to the annual awards season.
Winners, who receive a golden raspberry statuette, are decided by a 650-member panel and reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes website.
The Razzies take place a day before the Oscars ceremony, on February 23.
