The intensely private star takes her fans for a rare backstage view of her life, including a sonogram of her daughter Blue Ivy, during the feature-length tell-all which she directed from hundreds of hours of behind-the scenes footage shot of her over the past seven years.
The doco will screen in the US on HBO on February 16 with Australian networks currently negotiating to secure the film for broadcast here.
"I just had a feeling something was going on…really, this is crazy," she says quietly, laughing at the camera.
"They keep putting me in these tight clothes and trying to hide it … it's very difficult."
The pop powerbroker and actress explains she continues to fight to remain a creative force in music after achieving huge commercial success with Destiny's Child.
"There's something really stressful about trying to keep up with that; you can’t express yourself, you can't grow," she says.
"So I set a goal and my goal was independence."
But a superstar reveal-all wouldn’t be complete without a ubiquitous “celebrities are humans too" appeal.
"People see celebrities, they have money and fame, but I’m a human being," Beyonce confesses.
"I cry, I get scared, I get nervous just like everyone else."
