Police allege a 45-year-old high school administrator in Southern California found her love interests in her own student pool, having sexual relations with three underage boys in the last several months.
On Wednesday police arrested Erin Henton, an assistant principal at Tahquitz High School in Hemet on charges of sexual battery, oral copulation, sending harmful/inappropriate matter via electronic device and abnormal interest in children. She faces a total of 12 felony charges, KTLA-TV reported.
Cops were tipped off by a student's parent.
Hemet police say the sexual incidents took place over several months, all off the school’s campus. The three minor victims “are or were” students at the school, which placed Henton on administrative leave March 8 after the allegations came to light. She was arrested Wednesday and held in lieu of $1 million bail, KNBC-TV reported.
Explicit text and messages account for one of the charges, police said. Henson allegedly started seeing the boys outside of school in September and continued the relationship until the investigation began last month.
Henton has two children with connections to the school, the station reported, including a daughter who is a student there and a second who once tutored at Tahquitz. It’s not clear how long Erin Henton, who reportedly was married at the time of the incidents, worked at the school.
"I think it’s really sad because she was a person of trust," Debbie Midgley, a parent of a Tahquitz student, told the station.
