There are a few products no girl should be without at any given moment (cough, tampons, cough), but not everyone’s essentials are the same! When it comes to this springtime weather, I make sure to stock my bag with the most moisturizing products to keep my skin glowing, my lips un-chapped, my hands soft and my tummy full. (That’s right—food is an essential to my beauty routine.) Check out the 5 products I never leave home without, and tell me what you’re spring essentials are in the comment section below!
1) Lip Balm
This goes without saying, but a good lip balm can change your outlook on life. I have recently become OBSESSED with the mini Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cocoa Butter. It stays on for much longer than your average chapstick and, call me crazy, but I swear it enhances the natural shade of your lips so you look like you’re wearing a plumping, tinted balm. Wear it on its own or apply before your favorite lipstick for an absolutely perfect pucker.
2) Hand Cream
I’ve only been to France once when I was 12, but I still like to consider myself a bit of a Francophile when it comes to all things drugstore related—their beauty products are definitely the best! I use the entire Eau Thermale Avene line, but I am particularly partial to the new Cold Cream Hand Cream ($15,dermstore.com). It has a nice, clean scent and it dries instantly for a non-stick finish. Plus, hand cream is the key to pretty cuticles and a flawless mani.
3) Face Mist
Another French product (I mean, seriously, someone take me to Paris already), Caudalie Eau de Beaute Beauty Elixir, is a beauty splurge that I highly recommend. A few spritz of this mist on your face throughout the day will leave your skin radiant, your cheeks rosy and your makeup flawless—I kid you not! It’s a miracle in a bottle.
4) Green Juice
Yes, maybe at first it tastes like you’re just drinking liquid celery, but a green juice can be one of the best things for your skin! It will literally make you glow from the inside out. Replace one of your mid-day cupcake breaks with this 16 oz bottle and your skin will see the benefits. Trust me.
5) Healthy Munchies
If a liquid salad just isn’t going to cut it, I always make sure to have a KIND bar or two in my bag for emergencies. These protein bars made of nuts & spices are all natural, gluten and dairy free—and they actually taste unbelievable. Badabing, badaboom.
